We recently went to NYC for my soon to be sister in law’s bridal shower. I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to bring along the little lady and go to see Frozen the musical on Broadway. Sydney was BEYOND excited. We had booked our tickets way in advance (my Mom was joining us) and we talked her through what it would be like to see Frozen in a theater. She’d seen Disney on Ice and we’ve been to theaters before. But this one just wasn’t for her!
When we got into the theater and the lights went down I could tell immediately that Sydney was NOT having it. She practically jumped into my seat and covered her ears. She was just overwhelmed and kept saying that it was too loud. We must have been in the theater for all of five minutes of the show but she was shaking with fear so we took her out.
The staff was so accommodating and this was clearly something that happened often enough. They let us watch the rest of the show on a big screen in the lobby area. My mom was so comforting because at the time all I could think about was all the money we spent on the tickets and now we’re watching it on a tv screen! But Sydney was happy so we stayed put and watched the rest from there. Toddlers! I can’t help but laugh now because despite everything she had so much fun. When we left the theater she was walking down the streets singing “Let it Go” at the top of her lungs and freezing people as they walked by. P.S. the show was SO good, even on a tv screen!
